TablePort publishes guides and free calculators for people who run restaurants, cafés, pubs and bars in the UK. This page explains who writes them, how we check them, how we use AI, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Who we are, and our interest

TablePort Ltd (company number 13723140, London) makes restaurant software: POS, reservations, stock, staff scheduling and guest marketing. We publish guides because operators ask us the same questions every week, and because good answers bring people to our site. That is a commercial interest, and we want you to know it.

Where a guide mentions TablePort, we say what our product does and what it costs, and we name its limits. We do not accept payment or any other benefit from companies we write about, and no company can buy a place in a comparison.

How a guide is made

  1. Research. We start from primary sources: legislation.gov.uk, GOV.UK, HMRC, the Food Standards Agency, the Competition and Markets Authority, and each software vendor's own website for its prices and features.
  2. Drafting. The TablePort team writes each guide with help from AI tools for research and drafting. AI never decides what we publish.
  3. Fact check. Every law, rate, date, price and statistic is checked against its source before publication, including the title, description and structured data. Figures we could not verify are removed. Worked examples that use made-up numbers are labelled as illustrative.
  4. Compliance review. Comparisons with other companies are checked against UK advertising rules: claims must be accurate, verifiable, dated and fair, and must not disparage.
  5. Human review before indexing. A guide is published to search engines only after a named person at TablePort has read and approved it. Until then it carries a noindex tag and is not listed on our guides page.

Dates

Each guide shows the date its facts were last checked. We review legal, tax and pricing guides at least every three months, and sooner when a rule changes. We only change the date when we have rechecked the content, never to make a page look newer.

Comparisons and competitor prices

Competitor prices come from the vendor's own pricing page and are dated. If a vendor does not publish a price, we say so instead of guessing. Product and company names are trade marks of their owners, and TablePort is not affiliated with them.

Not advice

Our guides are general information for UK businesses. They are not legal, tax or financial advice. For decisions about your own business, speak to a solicitor, accountant or other qualified adviser.

Calculators

Our calculators run in your browser. They use only the figures you enter, and TablePort does not save them. Results are estimates for planning.

Corrections

If you find something wrong or out of date, email [email protected] with the page and the issue, and we will correct confirmed errors. Significant corrections are reflected in the page's checked date.
